What this website collects

The only personal information this website asks for is what you type into the enquiry form: your first name, surname, email address, an optional phone number, the category of your enquiry and your message.

Nothing else is requested. The website does not ask for identity numbers, dates of birth or any financial information, and it has no account or login of any kind.

Why it is used

Your information is used for one purpose: so that the Goldfields team can read your enquiry and reply to you. It is not used for marketing, it is not added to a mailing list and it is not sold or shared for anyone else’s purposes.

How we reply to you

When you send an enquiry, it is emailed to the Goldfields team and an acknowledgement is emailed back to the address you gave, so you know it arrived. The team then replies to you directly.

Who helps us run this website

Operating a website involves a small number of service providers: a hosting provider that serves these pages and an email provider that delivers the enquiry and the acknowledgement. They process the information only to provide that service.

Keeping it secure

This website is served over an encrypted connection and the enquiry is sent to the team over an encrypted connection as well. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the information, although no website can promise absolute security.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are not stored in a website database. Your information lives in the email sent to the Goldfields team, and it is kept only as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up conversation.

Your rights

Under South African privacy law you may ask what personal information Goldfields holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
